Forest Fruits Mood-Boosting Super Smoothie

 

This is a smoothie for when you need a boost. The combination of forest fruits are super good for your health including super-charging the immune system, building collagen and supporting healing - and the raw cacao contains potent chemicals to activate the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin in your brain, enhancing your mood.  

Yeah, yeah, but all that aside, berries and chocolate tastes blooming lovely and makes you feel good too.

NOTES: You can substitute the red and purple fruits - cherries, blackcurrants, berries and grapes for 175g / 1 and ¼ cup mixed, frozen forest fruits.

INGREDIENTS

375ml/1½ cups oat milk or almond milk
70g/½ cup frozen banana slices
70g/ ½ cup frozen pitted cherries
35g/ ¼ cup frozen blackcurrants
35g/ ¼ cup frozen blackberries
35g/ ¼ cup frozen red grapes
1 tablespoon raw cacao nibs or dark chocolate buttons
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

METHOD

Start the blend at a low speed to break down the ingredients and after 10 – 20 seconds, move to a medium speed to ensure an even blend. Do not be tempted to over blend as the smoothie can become gloopy.
